From the time of our founding, Alpha Delta Pi has believed in the importance of giving back to our community. A dedication to philanthropy guides our members to spend time in the service of those who need it most. Our international organization’s commitment to Ronald McDonald House Charities has led to the donation of over $20,000,000 over the course of our partnership. More than 350 Ronald McDonald Houses in 64 countries help keep families with seriously ill or injured children together when they need it most by offering them a comfortable, temporary residence in proximity to a medical facility.
A Letter from our Director of Philanthropy, Solana Acosta
Being Director of Philanthropy for ADPI has been an incredible experience, teaching me more about leadership, service, and sisterhood than I could have imagined. Our chapter’s commitment to the Ronald McDonald House of South Florida is deeply personal to me, both because of the organization’s mission and my own connection to RMH.
RMH gives families a safe, supportive place to stay while their children receive medical care. It’s more than a home, it’s a community that brings comfort during some of life’s hardest moments. For me, it’s personal. When I first moved from Argentina to the United States for medical care, my family and I stayed at the Ronald McDonald House in Miami, the very first home I had in this country. During that time, RMH gave us comfort, stability, and hope when we needed it most. That experience showed me what it truly means to receive support when you need it most, and it inspires everything I do in this role.
This spring, our chapter raised over $28,000 in just two days. From Sign the Flag and partnering with our local animal shelter to a 7v7 football tournament with external organizations, and from multiple give-backs at local restaurants to showcasing the creativity and dedication of our sisters, every event showcased their genuine passion for giving back. Seeing everyone come together, our sisters, the FAU community, and local organizations, to support RMH, reminded me why service is at the heart of who we are as Alpha Delta Pi.
Leading our philanthropy isn’t just about raising funds; it’s about creating a real impact for families, fostering teamwork within our chapter, and celebrating the joy of giving back. I am proud to be part of a sisterhood that shows up for each other, for our community, and for a cause that has profoundly touched my life.
All my love,
Solana Acosta
